Atlanta, London, and Santa Monica – August 20, 2013 – MYCOM Group, the leading independent provider of end‐to‐end services, solutions and software for communications networks, and Clearlake Capital, a private equity firm and strategic investor in MYCOM, today announced several executive management appointments in response to recent success and growth experienced across its Advanced Engineering Services and Software divisions.
Alfred Binford is appointed President and CEO of MYCOM’s Advanced Engineering Services division, based in Atlanta, Georgia. The division also recently appointed Richard Blanc as COO and David Winters as CFO. Binford succeeds Richard Hessler, who is moving into a new role within MYCOM Group after holding multiple senior executive roles in the division. Dr. Taaghol joined MYCOM in 2005 and was previously Managing Director and Head of Sales.

Alfred Binford: Binford has more than 25 years of experience in the communications industry and has worked across a broad range of major markets. Prior to joining MYCOM North America, Binford led the Amdocs Consulting Division to significant growth on a worldwide basis, joining the company in 2010. Before joining Amdocs, he was a senior executive at Vodafone, leading its Global Enterprise business in the Americas. Prior to working at Vodafone, Binford led the Managed Services and Outsourcing businesses for Unisys and, earlier, at EDS. Binford began his career in telecommunications with AT&T where, over the course of eleven years, he held assignments of increasing responsibility across sales, marketing, network operations, and product management. Binford went on to work at Verizon, where he was initially Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Advertising, and later the President and CEO of its long‐distance subsidiary during the startup phase. Payam Taaghol: With more than 18 years of experience in telecommunications, Dr. Taaghol has held executive positions with Nortel, Bechtel, and Wireless Facilities International prior to joining MYCOM in 2005 as the Managing Director of EMEA. In addition to completing his Ph.D. at University of Surrey, Dr. Taaghol has also held research and academic positions in the past and has published extensively on various topics related to telecommunications technology. Richard Blanc: Prior to joining Mycom North America this year, Blanc served as VP of Field Services for Ericsson since 2009. Prior to Ericsson, Mr. Blanc spent 19 years in various senior management positions in such areas as field services, network operations, special operations, network integration management, and IT services development, delivery and operations. Prior to Sprint, he spent 10 years in software development at such companies as BWAI, Telplus, and WTW. David Winters: Winters is a deeply experienced finance executive, who has previously held CFO, VP Finance, and other senior finance and treasury positions at such companies as Mitel, IntelliOne, Pure Med Spa, The Macauley Companies, Polycom, and BellSouth.
